There were a handful of stories to follow with the Twins this week. Michael Cuddyer was introduced as a member of the Colorado Rockies and he picked to wear number three in honor of Harmon Killebrew. Jason Kubel signed a multi-year free agent contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Twins signed right-handed pitcher Jason Marquis to be the fifth starter in the rotation and to basically replace Kevin Slowey. The stories just kept coming throughout the week.
- Yahoo's Big League Stew had a post about the baseball men we lost in 2011. We miss you a lot Killer.
- Cuddyer made one final post at FSN North's website to hand out a list of thank-you's.
- Seth Stohs is getting close to finishing his 2012 Prospect Handbook (with a little help from myself and others). He posted his second preliminary prospect list for the Twins organization.
- Jose Mijares got paid a chunk of money to be fat and overweight for the Royals. Analysis provided by the Baseball Outsider.
- Dave Anderson of the NY Times wrote an interesting article about what would have happened if some of the biggest stars of the past had to face free agency.
- The Tenth Inning Stretch continued his series of posts on the Twins franchise leaders in different categories. This week's post looked at the top members on the slugging percentage list.
- The folks over at The WGOM are examining the Topps rookie card of Rene Tosoni by trying to figure out the exact game and play from which the picture was taken.
- Terry Ryan enjoys ugly Christmas sweaters.
- Classic Minnesota Twins posted a fun look at the Twins showing off their jerseys in different decades.
- An interesting article was put up at Baseball Prospectus about the success of the hit and run.
- Twins Fan From Afar looked at "Departed Twins' Playoff Stats" and wondered what the team had given up.
- Kubel's signing doesn't seem to fit in with the Diamondbacks who already have to decent corner outfielders.
